What is The Connecticut Alliance for Business Opportunities (CABO)?

CABO is a non-profit organization comprised of Connecticut's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender business owners, corporations, professionals and supporters. CABO is dedicated to promoting the economic prosperity of the LGBT community in Connecticut by encouraging the support of like-minded businesses and entities. CABO also provides information that is both vital and useful to the continued prosperity and expansion of the Connecticut LGBT business community.

What is CABO's mission and purpose?

CABO's mission is to create, identify and enhance business opportunities for LGBT and LGBT-friendly organizations, thereby fostering a more inclusive and vibrant Connecticut economy.

Who are the members of CABO?
CABO members are a diverse collection of businesses, individuals and corporations. From some of the largest corporate entities in Connecticut, to the newest and smallest businesses in our communities, CABO gives an equal voice to each member. CABO encourages LGBT entities as well as LGBT friendly entities to join. The diversity of CABO is its greatest asset.

How does CABO help my business?

Joining CABO means spotlighting your business amongst the thousands located in Connecticut. As every business owner knows, using any advantage in this economic environment is essential. CABO is not only a way for the LGBT business community to foster relationships and new opportunities, but is also inherently a marketing tool.

How often does CABO meet?

Monthly networking meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month in West Hartford, the fourth Thursday of the month in New Haven, and the second Tuesday of the month at different member locations in New Haven County. How do I find out about the latest CABO news and information?

CABO publishes the quarterly ConneCTions Newsletter, highlighting new businesses and the latest current events affecting the Connecticut business community.

What is the NGLCC?

The National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce is the business advocate and direct link between lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) business owners, corporations, and government, representing the interests of more than 1.4 million LGBT businesses and entrepreneurs. The NGLCC is committed to forming a broad-based coalition of LGBT owned and friendly businesses, professionals, and major corporations for the purpose of promoting economic growth and the prosperity of our members.

When you join CABO you become a member of the NGLCC as well. You receive access to national and international conferences, forums, certification, as well as networking events that will give you the opportunity to create connections that will help your business succeed. Visit the NGLCC page.
